Our Story - The Modern Gift Basket
Stacks is the latest offering from the Foiled brand. Foiled Cupcakes, Chicago's only online cupcake bakery, began in 2008. As our business grew (and it grew quickly!), our customers wanted to share their Foiled-love with friends and loved ones outside the greater Chicago area. They kept asking, "Can you please ship your cupcakes to us in __________ (name any city that's NOT Chicago)?"
Because we love our customers and hate saying "no," we decided to start figuring out how we could ship our delicious, award-winning cupcakes across the country without ice, smashed frosting, crazy shipping costs or drama. Add to this some sleek, modern packaging, a bit of fun nostalgia, a variety of tasty treats, and a hand-written gift note and VOILA! We created Stacks - a modern bakery for busy people.
Handmade and hand packaged
We pride ourselves on hand-crafting all of our bakery items, and we don't compromise on quality: we personally hand-package every Stack with care. Your Stacks baker will sign their name so you know it's been carefully inspected prior to shipping.
We never use preservatives in our Stacks, so please make sure you eat them in a timely manner.
Mari Luangrath (Owner and Founder) loves the San Francisco 49ers, Diet Coke, and has run a marathon once. She hates cilantro. She and her fiancé Brad have three kids, two dogs, and average 5 hours of sleep a night.
Susan Myburgh (Order Coordinator) hails all the way from Cape Town, South Africa. She has called Chicago home for the past eight years. When she's not helping customers with orders and generally spreading the joy of Stacks across the globe, she can be found acting up a storm across the Chicago theatre stages.
Meghan Reardon (Marketing and Operations Assistant) is a Kansas gal by birth, and has been lucky to call herself a Chicagoan for nearly eight years. In addition to her role on the Stacks team, she plays a bunch of other assorted roles on the stage and on camera as a professional actor.
Katie Schmaltz (Operations Manager) is really into organizing things, craft beer, and indie music. She and her boyfriend have a dog and live in Logan Square.
